Low MOQ manufacturing

Low minimums, from manufacturers you can rely on.

MOQ means minimum order quantity: the smallest batch a factory will make for you. Most brands searching for a low MOQ manufacturer are really searching for two things at once: a first run small enough to afford, and a factory that will actually deliver it right. We find both. Many formats start around 1,000 units on a stock formula.

Typical starting minimums.

On existing formulas with stock packaging, lowest first. A real quote depends on the manufacturer, the formula, the pack and the number of SKUs.

Keep it low

Six ways to get a smaller first run.

A minimum is not fixed. These are the levers that move it, roughly in order of how much they move it.

Start from a stock formula

Development and tooling are already paid for, which is the single biggest reason a minimum drops.

Use stock packaging

Stock bottles, jars, tubs and labeled cans have no tooling and far lower minimums than custom packaging or printed cans.

Launch with fewer SKUs

Minimums usually apply per flavor or per SKU. Three flavors can mean three minimums. Launch with one or two and add once one sells.

Label rather than print

A pressure sensitive label or a sleeve lets a small run look finished without a printing plate.

Pick the format for the stage

Powders, capsules, tinctures and topicals start lowest. Tablets, strips, pouches and beverages start higher. A format switch later is normal.

Say your real volume

A manufacturer prices risk. A clear first run and a realistic reorder plan gets a better minimum than a vague big number.

Reliable, not just small

Cheap and small is easy to find. Right is harder.

A low minimum is worth nothing if the samples fail, the potency comes back short or the lead time doubles after the deposit. That is the gap we close.

  • A sample before any deposit
  • A certificate of analysis from a recent batch
  • The real minimum per SKU, in writing
  • Quotes inside 48 hours and samples inside five business days
  • Registration and certification that match what you are making

Certifications

A small first run does not have to mean cutting corners. These are available through our manufacturing partners, depending on the format and the line.

Questions

Low MOQ, answered.

What does MOQ mean in supplement manufacturing?

MOQ is the minimum order quantity, the smallest run a manufacturer will produce for you. It is usually set per SKU or per flavor, and it reflects setup time, batch size and packaging minimums.

What is the lowest MOQ for private label supplements?

On existing formulas, many capsule, powder, gummy, tincture and topical runs start around 1,000 units. Some stock programs go lower. Custom formulas and some formats start far higher.

Are low MOQ manufacturers less reliable?

Not necessarily, but low minimums and reliability do not always come together. Ask for a sample before a deposit, a certificate of analysis from a recent batch, and the real minimum per SKU in writing. We check those before a manufacturer sees your brief.

Does a low MOQ cost more per unit?

Usually, yes. Setup costs are spread across fewer units. The total first order is far smaller, though, which is what matters when you are testing a product.

Can I get a low MOQ on a custom formula?

Sometimes, mostly in powders, capsules and topicals. For gummies, softgels, tablets and beverages, custom development normally carries much larger minimums. Starting on a stock formula is the common route.
