Hemp, cannabinoids and alternative botanicals

Hemp and botanical products, placed properly.

This is where Clay & Spark started. Years of business development at one of hemp's best known brands, then operations inside a manufacturer running cannabinoid and botanical products. We place CBD, CBN, CBG and delta 9 products, and kratom, kava and kanna, with manufacturers who test every batch and know the rules for what they make.

Cannabinoids

Hemp derived and state licensed.

Every cannabinoid project starts with one question: where will this be sold, and under which rules on the day it ships?

CBD

Isolate, broad spectrum and full spectrum, in tinctures, softgels, gummies, topicals and drinks.

CBN and CBG

Minor cannabinoids built into sleep, calm and focus products, alone or alongside CBD.

CBC and THCV

Newer minor cannabinoids for brands that want a distinct formula.

Delta 9 THC

Placed with state licensed manufacturers for licensed markets, and in hemp formats built under the federal limit.

Water compatible emulsions

Cannabinoids that mix evenly into drinks, shots and liquids. See ingredient sourcing.

Formulation and testing

Dose, carrier and terpene choices made for the format, with potency proven on the finished product, not just the ingredient.

The federal change

December 11, 2026.

Congress narrowed the federal definition of hemp in November 2025. After a short delay, most of the changes take effect on December 11, 2026, and some may apply from November 12. Finished products with more than 0.4 milligrams of total THC per container fall outside the definition, and cannabinoids synthesized or manufactured outside the plant are excluded.

  • CBD, CBG and other non intoxicating products built under the limit continue
  • Full spectrum products need checking against the per container limit
  • THC gummies and drinks at typical doses move to state licensed channels
  • State rules still apply on top, and they differ a lot

Rules are moving quickly and this is not legal advice. We plan each project around current federal and state rules where the product will be sold.

Alternative botanicals

Kratom, kava, kanna and more.

Relaxation, mood and alcohol alternative products are among the fastest growing in wellness. They need manufacturers who test properly and brands who label honestly.

Kratom

Leaf powder, capsules, standardized leaf extracts and shots, placed where kratom is legal and with age requirements followed. We do not place concentrated 7-OH or semi synthetic alkaloid products.

Kava

Noble kava root and extracts standardized to kavalactones, for drinks, shots, tinctures and capsules.

Kanna

Sceletium tortuosum extracts for mood and social products, in capsules, gummies, drinks and pouches.

Other relaxation botanicals

Blue lotus, damiana, skullcap, California poppy, passionflower and lemon balm, alone or in blends.

Our standards

What every project in this category gets.

  • Third party certificate of analysis on every batch: potency, heavy metals, pesticides, microbials and residual solvents
  • Labels, warnings and serving sizes built for the states where the product will be sold
  • Child resistant packaging where it is required
  • Manufacturers registered or licensed for exactly what you are making
  • No products designed to look like candy or snacks aimed at children

Questions

Hemp and botanicals, answered.

Can you place delta 9 THC gummies or drinks?

Yes, with the right route. Under the federal change, most of which takes effect on December 11, 2026, finished hemp products with more than 0.4 milligrams of total THC per container no longer qualify as hemp. Higher dose THC products belong with state licensed manufacturers selling into licensed markets, and we match those projects accordingly. Rules are changing quickly, so we plan every project around where it will be sold and the rules on the day it ships.

Do CBD products still work after December 2026?

Yes. CBD, CBG and other non intoxicating cannabinoid products formulated under the new limit continue. Full spectrum products need checking against the per container limit, and broad spectrum or isolate is often the simpler route.

Do you work with kratom?

Yes, natural leaf and standardized leaf extract products, where kratom is legal, with age requirements and testing in place. We do not place concentrated 7-OH or semi synthetic alkaloid products, which the DEA moved to temporarily schedule in July 2026.

What formats work for kava and kanna?

Drinks and shots lead for kava, with tinctures and capsules close behind. Kanna works in capsules, gummies, drinks and pouches. Both are growing as alcohol alternatives.

Is this legal advice?

No. We place products with manufacturers who know their rules, and we recommend your own counsel review labels and claims for the states you sell in.
